Alignment Counseling and Consulting, PLLC was created out of a need to address every aspect of the body that God created: Mind, Body, and Spirit. I grew up as the daughter of a Baptist preacher and was worried I could only approach the depression I would feel with prayer. I later learned God is faithful enough that he gives us resources along with prayer including a trusted counselor who could help refocus my thoughts. Even with the Christian faith, we have to focus on our mind as a part of tending to our spirit or souls.
I use a variety of techniques including focusing on the scriptures and word of God to address anxiety and depression.
I use a number of intrerventions to manage anxietey and depression including cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, as well as motivational interviewing. I also use Yoga to treat physical ailments for stretching, teach body awareness, and to learn breathing as a part of becoming more mindful of the thoughts we allow into our hearts.
I have a heart for those who are struggling to find their identity, knowing it is firmly defined in Christ and not chasing after what the world says about us. When you work with me, I create a safe space to explore, answer tough questions, and determine what's next for you according to the plan God has for your life.
