The path to emotional healing often begins with acknowledgement that we desire to be heard.

There are many reasons why we often feel as if we do not have a voice, why we feel like we cannot speak out about our struggles and pain.  Trauma, shame, guilt, fear...at some point in life, these experience impacted us all in many ways that ends up leading us to feel consistently triggered, exhausted, hopeless, isolated, and lonely. And as Christians, all of these burdens that we carry can often make us feel disconnected to God. 


Do you fall into the trap of believing that you are defined by your past? Do the memories of harm, abuse and neglect keep you up and on constant alert? And do you often feel that you cannot discuss this with anyone, even your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, because of personal guilt or a culture of shaming due to people not understanding emotions? Are you often tempted to believe that God does not care? If this sounds like you, having a therapist to talk to about this can be such a healing first step to letting it all out, to having a voice.



Therapy can be a challenge because we deal with real emotions and thoughts that we deeply feel and experience everyday, and we often believe in the lies that we are unworthy and defined by negativity. Uncovering those emotions is not an easy process. But as your therapist, I commit to being a part of that process with you and empowering you to acknowledge those emotions, allow yourself to feel those emotions, and come up with healthy solutions on how to address those emotions. Emotional healing is healthy to the body, mind and spirit, and the fact that you are taking steps towards your emotional health is a testimony to the strength and resilience you already have. I hope you consider me as the therapist to be a part of this journey with you.

As a therapist, I am trained to discuss many issues, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma and PTSD. 
There are some things I am especially passionate about: 
-Working with adult survivors of childhood trauma and helping survivors become trauma-informed 
-Working with people of color who have carried with them racial trauma and burdens placed by the constructs of white supremacy within the Church 
-Working with Christians who are dealing with hurt and isolation that occurred within the Church; and 
-Multiethnic/mixed adults who have racial trauma, as well as challenges in racial/ethnic identity 


However, these passions are not exclusive, and all are welcome to see if I am an appropriate fit for their needs.
